Con il termine spike ci si riferisce a un improvviso e repentino incremento nell’andamento di una qualsiasi variabile che normalmente si attesta su valori notevolmente più bassi.
Osservandone l’andamento su un grafico, uno spike è un picco, una vetta, che può verificarsi a seguito di un’evento esterno o di una perturbazione, così come per cause del tutto sconosciute e, perciò, imprevedibili. Spike, pertanto, è una zine che si pone come recettore di impulsi e ricerche tanto imprevedibili quanto inevitabili e propri di qualsiasi variabile apparentemente “stabile”.

The term spike refers to a sudden and sharp increase in the trend of any variable that is on average at much lower values.
Observing this trend on a time line, a spike is a peak, a tip, that can be due to an occurring external event or a disturbance, as well as an unknown, and hence unpredictable, reason. Therefore, Spike is a zine that wants to intercept impulses and researches that are unpredictable as well as inevitable, just like any seemingly “stable” variable is.

Feticci è un progetto che prende vita dall’esigenza di analizzare il processo di lento deperimento di una realtà organica che nasce, cresce e svanisce a nostro uso e consumo.
Scarti, materia organica che si trasforma e si disintegra nel lento procedere della decomposizione.
Nell’inesorabile fine cui questa realtà è destinata, questi soggetti-oggetti rivelano un’inaspettata bellezza. Feticci ne fa un reliquiario sacro che li innalza a veri e propri oggetti di culto. Un tributo alla loro essenza e a ciò che hanno rappresentato prima di perdere la loro funzione vitale: il nutrimento.
Nel tentativo ossessivo di svelare questa arcana bellezza, la ricerca si fa metodica e trova una sua armonia nella ripetizione di luci, colori e prospettive, offrendo nuova vita a ciò che è inevitabilmente destinato a morire.

Feticci is a project that arises from the need to analyze the slow decay process of the organic reality that is born, grows and vanishes for our own use and consumption.
Waste, organic matter that undergoes a process of transformation and slowly disintegrates, as decomposition advances.
But even in the unrelenting end that this matter faces, the objects-subjects here represented reveal an unexpected beauty. Feticci creates a sacred reliquary out of them, raising them to real cult objects. A tribute to their essence, to what they were before losing their vital function becoming waste: nourishment.
In the obsessive attempt to reveal this arcane beauty, the research is methodic and finds its harmony in the repetition of lights, colours and perspectives, offering new life to what is inevitably intended to die.
